As with all the Skyelanders, the Skyelander Rohloff is a British made touring bike with the frame and forks hand built by one of England’s top framebuilders, Lee Cooper.
The frame and forks are designed for 700c x 35mm tyres and mudguards but we can design it for a different tyre width if preferred. We can also design it for 27.5"/650b wheels.
The lugged frame is built using the strongest gauge of the air hardened Reynolds 631 steel tubing on the main triangle. The fork blades are also Reynolds 631. The chainstays and seatstays are also Reynolds 631. The frame has Paragon stainless steel sliding dropouts for belt tensioning, also incorporating a split to install the belt.
The transmission consists of the Rohloff hub along with the Gates belt and Gates CDX sprockets, the more premium and durable version for touring.
The handbuilt wheels use Andra 321 700c 32h disc rims, made for touring (36 hole is also an option). The front hub is Shimano XT 32 hole centre-lock disc, or dynamo hub as an upgrade.
Mechanical disc brakes provide the stopping power - in our opinion the best availabe - the TRP Spyres. Easy to adjust, good stopping power and reliable.
